Reading boss Ruben Selles has issued a positive statement regarding the future of out-of-contract players heading into the summer, expecting to be in a position to keep 'all of them.'

With the season coming to an end, Blackpool the final fixture on Saturday, thoughts are already turning to pre-season and the 2024/25 League One campaign.

Still under an embargo, transfers will be limited to free agents and loan players, so keeping hold of the star performers from this year will be critical.

The likes of Joel Pereira; Clinton Mola; Kelvin Ehibhatiomhan and Femi Azeez are all in the final couple of months of their current deals, although some have options where the club can trigger a further 12 months.

Speaking to the press ahead of the final match, Selles was able to reassure supporters that work is underway on new deals and the Spaniard cannot foresee any current issues in tying down star performers.

"The ones where we have the year option, we are able to renew," the Spaniard confirmed. "I think there is one player that has not got that year but is in conversation to renew his contract. I am not worried about the players out of contract that we want to stay, I think we will manage to keep them all."

Youth contracts are up too in June, with Under-21s manager Noel Hunt confirming talks over release and renew are already taking place.
