Berkshire darting sensation Luke Humphries has officially become the number one in the world ahead of his highly-anticipated World Championship final tonight.

Born and raised in Newbury, the 28-year-old faces 16-year-old Luke Littler at Alexandra Palace in tonight's final, a first appearance in the final for both players.

Littler, a teenager on debut, is catching the attention after his stunning campaign, but Humphries' win over Scott Williams ensured Humphries will begin 2024 as world number one regardless of his final result.

2019 PDC World Youth Champion, Humphries won three of the final four majors in 2023, including the Grand Prix and Grand Slam, to ensure he was the bookies favourite heading into the World Championships.

Humphries has defeated Lee Evans, Ricardo Pietreczko, Joe Cullen, Dave Chisnall and Williams en route to the final, which gets underway at 7.30 pm tonight.
