Reading are keen on loaning in impressive Arsenal teenager Charles Sagoe Jr, according to reports, but face stiff competition from a host of EFL clubs.

The Royals, under transfer embargo until at least January 2025, can only bring in free agents and loan players.

Following Ovie Ejaria's release and Dom Ballard's season-ending injury, there will be spaces for Ruben Selles to strengthen in the upcoming January transfer window.

One name linked in Sagoe Jr, who has impressed for the Gunners' Under-21s this season.

In eight PL2 games, Sagoe Jr has scored once and contributed with six assists.

He made his Arsenal debut against Brentford in the EFL Cup, while featuring in all four of Mehmet Ali's Bristol Street Motors Trophy fixtures- including the full game in a 5-2 Reading win last month.

According to TeamTalk, the winger wants first-team football and has caught the eye of Millwall, Barnsley, Charlton and Reading.

The winter window opens next Monday.
