Reading progressed into the second round of the FA Cup with a 3-2 win over MK Dons.

Here are the ratings.

Joel Pereira, 6: A debut for the former Manchester United keeper, he made a few good saves but was caught out of position for the first goal. Kicking was of good standard.

Tivonge Rushesha, 6: The youngster filled in well at full-back, loving to charge forward whenever given the opportunity.

Tyler Bindon, 5: Lost his man for the MK Dons equaliser and had a few shaky moments, but still looked much better at his natural centre-back position compared to recent weeks at right-back.

Nelson Abbey, 6: Relatively comfortable day at the office for the captain. Possibly could have done more to cut out the cross for their equaliser but other than that the defender looked composed throughout.

Matt Carson, 5: Left-back continues to be a problem position for Ruben Selles as nobody seems to grab it by the horns. Was targeted throughout and everything MK Dons did well came down his side. A tough afternoon.

Lewis Wing, 8: Two assists and a goal, the experienced League One operator was a class above the other players. The best we have seen of the former Championship regular.

Sam Hutchinson, 6: Plenty of energy from the vastly experienced midfielder, but he did not seem to have much of an impact on the game. Swept up well but flew into some heavy tackles.

Ben Elliott, 5: Disappointing from the youngster, who many had expected so much from. Having impressed greatly in league cameos, the former Chelsea midfielder failed to grasp the opportunity of a start with both hands. Plenty to come from the Cameroon international.

Caylan Vickers, 6: Combative and full of energy, he was missing the clever touch he has displayed in previous starts.

Paul Mukariu, 5: Failed to support his full-back and lost the ball on too many occasions. Was hooked off at half-time.

Kelvin Ehibhatiomhan, 6: Had one chance early on and took it clinically. Apart from his third minute goal, saw very little in the way of goal scoring chances.

Substitutes

Harvey Knibbs, 7: An impressive cameo from Knibbs, who looked to win possession and set the forwards on their way. Took his goal well to keep up good form in cup competitions.

Femi Azeez, 6: Did everything but score, again. Once he hits the net goals will flow, but the winger is really struggling to get his name on the score sheet.

Dom Ballard, 6: Similar to Azeez, the teenager did everything but score against MK Dons.

Michael Craig, 6: Tidy and won possession well on plenty of occasions. Balanced the midfield well.
