Charlton Athletic turned on the style in the final 30 minutes to cruise to a 4-0 win over Reading.

Here are the Royals ratings.

David Button, 5: Conceded four goals and could have done better with a couple of them. Made one very good save to prevent the damage being any worse.

Tyler Bindon, 3: Playing out of position, the youngster had a very bad day at the office. Beaten one-versus-one for three of the four goals, his side was targeted very effectively. Needs to return to centre-back as he is not a right-back.

Harlee Dean, 5: Did not stick out but was part of a defence torn to shreds. Had little support from the midfield in front.

Nelson Abbey, 7: Sad indictment of a team's performance that despite conceding four goals, the centre-back was the best player on the pitch. Winning individual duals and making crucial last-ditch tackles, it could have been much worse without him. Did switch off for the final goal, however.

Nesta Guinness-Walker, 6: Crucial in the first half, providing lots of attacking opportunities. Beaten too easily in the air for the Charlton opener and was caught out of position too many times toward the end, leaving space for their fourth.

Michael Craig, 5: Making his first league start, the youngster more than held his own in the first half. As the Addicks took control in the second half, the former Tottenham Academy midfielder looked a little lost.

Lewis Wing, 5: Had an impressive first-half, almost scoring on more than one occasion, but his control waned as the game wore on. Needed to be given more freedom with the ball, but was overrun in midfield.

Harvey Knibbs, 5: Needed to score early in the second half, meeting a corner at the back post but putting wide. Lots of endeavour but hard to think of too much he did to impact the game.

Femi Azeez, 5: Saw lots of the ball but failed to produce any magic throughout. Gave it up plenty in the second half, with the Royals forced to defend lots.

Sam Smith, 5: Not fully fit and it showed. Never had a chance to test the keeper, but was a willing runner.

Kelvin Ehibhatiomhan, 5: A few glimmers of his potential but cut an isolated figure. Another striker who failed to test the goalkeeper enough.

Substitutes

Dom Ballard, 5: Busy and ran around lots but all too deep to impact the score line. Totally different, and useful, option to the likes of Ehibhatiomhan and Smith.

Ben Elliott, 6: A few nice touches and passes, but only had 15 minutes to impress. Needs more game time.

Caylan Vickers, 6: Came on with no fear, already three behind, and looked to make something happen. Did not come off at the Valley, but everyone knows what he is capable of.

Charlie Savage, 6: A few good passes in a very brief cameo off the bench.
