Reading earned their first home win of the Championship season, beating Lewes 1-0.

Tia Primmer scored the game's only goal in a close-fought affair.

Neither team opened the opposition up much in the first half, but Academy graduate Primmer found the back of the net in the final 15 minutes to make it back-to-back wins for Liam Gilbert's side.

Now into the top half, the Royals are just three points off league-leaders Southampton.

"The really good thing about today was the way the girls took ownership for themselves and addressed the issues at half-time," Gilbert said.

"I’ve mentioned it before, but the camaraderie amongst this group and the togetherness the girls have shown, as a manager, these are the kind of qualities you want to see.

"At halftime, the girls were disappointed, but straight away they identified the issues and all accepted that we could do better. In the second half, we controlled the game and played the football we wanted to play as a team."

The travel to high-flying Sunderland next Sunday, looking to make it three wins on the spin.
