Reading boss Ruben Selles has been rewarded with winning EFL League One Manager of the Week after a 'challenging week.'

The Royals, who were docked three points last week after owner Dai Yongge failed to fulfil financial requirements set by the EFL, the side sit in the relegation zone despite winning three of their seven matches.

However, it was business as usual on the field as his side overturned a deficit to beat high-flying Bolton Wanderers 2-1.

This came during a match in which supporters showered the pitch with over 200 tennis balls in protest to Yongge.

"It has been a really challenging week," he said.

"I am so proud of the squad, the older players, the younger players, all the players and staff.

"The team showed character and showed that we can perform against any team."

It is Selles' first piece of recognition since taking the role.

He is joined by former Reading goalkeeper Luke Southwood, who is placed in the team despite losing 1-0 to Exeter City.

Oxford United have three players included after they beat Fleetwood Town 3-0 on Saturday.

Portsmouth, Barnsley, Wigan Athletic, Exeter City and Bristol Rovers all have players included in the Team of the Week.
