Reading's performances on the field have been inconsistent as Ruben Selles settles into life as Royal's manager, but one thing that remains consistent is the support off the field.

Without an away win in almost 11 months, a run stretching 15 matches, Reading fans have sold out their allocation for the upcoming trip to Leyton Orient.

Over 1,200 will make the trip, with tickets selling out within 48 hours, as the sides meet in league action for the first time in almost 30 years.

Reading last visited The Breyer Group Stadium, formerly Brisbane Road, in the League Cup 23 years ago.

January 1994 was the last league meeting between the O's and the Royals- a 1-1 draw as Reading were promoted under Mark McGhee.

This follows over 1,100 travelling to Cambridge United last Monday, for a match broadcasted live on television, and over 1,000 driving three hours to Port Vale for the opening away match of the season.

A back-up list has been set up by the club, allowing supporters to pick up any unwanted tickets from fans who have currently bought tickets.

October is expected to see large followings from Royal's supporters, with Charlton Athletic and Northampton Town among the nearest away matches of the campaign.

Reading have not won on their travels since November 2022, the longest run without victory in the entire EFL.
