Reading exited the Carabao Cup on penalties after a thrilling 2-2 draw with Ipswich Town.

Here are the ratings.

Coniah Boyce-Clarke, 7: Impressive display from the deputy. Kept busy all evening, there was not a great deal the youngster could do with either goal conceded. His quick-thinking allowed the Royals to equalise late on, and he even managed to save a penalty in the shootout.

Kelvin Abrefa, 6: Overall a solid display, looking to get forward where possible and linking up well with his teammates in front of him. However, he lost his man for the equaliser on the stroke of half-time.
Amadou Mbengue, 6: Put his body on the line more than once and covered well with his pace.

Tom McIntyre, 6: Solid. Won his headers and his tackles throughout. Did not stand out as someone with over 100 appearances to his name, but can have no complaints.

Matt Carson, 6: Drew the short straw as he was directly up against the Tractor Boys' main attacking outlet, Omari Hutchinson. A tough and busy evening for the youngster, but his cross caused uncertainty in the Ipswich backline and helped put Reading into a second-minute lead.

Michael Craig, 7: The 20-year-old dominated the game, winning possession on occasion where he had no right to win it. Cool, calm and tidy. A big future for the midfielder.

Jay Senga, 6: Much quieter than his midfield partner, but swept things up well and kept the ball tidy. Did not draw attention to himself, just got about the pitch.

Tivonge Rushesha, 5: Had brief sparks where it looked as though the teenager would make something happen, but nothing came off for the former Swansea City prodigy.

Ben Elliott, 5: Nightmare evening for the Chelsea talent, having little impact on the game and missing his spot kick. Has impressed in recent cameos so plenty to come from the midfielder.

Caylan Vickers, 6: Denied his first professional goal as the second-minute goal went down as Brandon Williams''. Still inexperienced, his decision-making will improve with minutes.

Basil Tuma, 5: Feeding off scraps but the forward will hope to make more of an impact in future.

Substitutions

Andy Yiadom, 6: Did all the simple things well. A composed head in a young side. Good impact from the skipper.

Charlie Savage, 6: Came on at a time the Royals were up against the ropes and helped regain a footing on the ball.

Harvey Knibbs, 6: A much-needed outlet late on. Had the beating of his man all night, but was to get nothing from the referee. Scored his penalty emphatically.

Kelvin Ehibhatiomhan, 7: Switched on from the minute he stepped on the pitch, the 20-year-old took his goal expertly and held the line well.
