Reading have been drawn against Ipswich Town in the second round of the Carabao Cup.

In round two for the first time in three years, a young Royals outfit hammered a full-strength Millwall side 4-0 at the Den on Tuesday to set up the tie.

With matches due to take place in W/C August 28, all Premier League teams not playing in Europe joined the remaining Football League sides.

The Tractor Boys beat Bristol Rovers 2-0 on Wednesday evening.

The Royals have never got further than the quarter-final stage of the League Cup, and famously played in the highest scoring tie against Arsenal in 2013 (losing 5-7).

Local rivals Oxford United and Swindon Town were knocked out in the first round.

Reading are back in League One action on Saturday against Port Vale, the first trip to Burslem for over 20 years.
