The Reading Festival is back, seeing huge names in music take to the stage this August.

This year's long weekend will see performances from the likes of Billie Eilish and The Killers as revellers across the country descend on the camping grounds.

Whether you are attending to see some iconic rock acts or are partial to a bit of rap, here is everything you need to know about the Reading event.

When is Reading Festival 2023 taking place?

Reading Chronicle:

According to organisers, the 2023 Reading Festival will take place between Friday, August 25 and Sunday, August 27.

However, those with a weekend ticket will be able to enter the event from 3 am on Thursday, August 24.

Those with early access can also enter from midday on Wednesday, August 23 (today).

Are there any age restrictions in place for the Reading Festival?

The event organisers say they "welcome all ages to the festival" but have advised that there will be restrictions in place for under 16s.

Anyone 15 and under must be accompanied by a ticket holder over the age of 18.

Children under the age of 13 are admitted for free but ID may be required upon entry to the event.

A Challenge 25 policy will also be in place for the purchase of alcohol.

What am I not allowed to bring to the Reading Festival?

Items such as aerosols over 250ml, air horns/megaphones, anything that could reasonably be used as a weapon, balloons, blow torches, catapults, sky lanterns, clothing "which promote cultural appropriation", BBQs, disposable vapes, drones, fireworks/pyrotechnics and more are banned from the campsite and main arena.

Alcohol and large bags over A4 size are also not allowed into the main arena.

The full list can be found on the Reading Festival website.
