FIREFIGHTERS have been called out as a major fire breaks out near Reading station today (July 7).
Huge plumes of smoke have been seen above Reading today after a fire broke out at a high-rise apartment on Garrard Street.
Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service crews from Caversham Road, Wokingham Road, Wokingham and Whitley Wood were sent to the scene.
Crews remain at the scene of the incident at this time.

Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue say "please avoid the area if possible to allow emergency services clear access to the scene."
