An animal group we all come across multiple times in our daily lives, birds are often forgotten when admiring natural beauty.

That is why Animal Welfare Coalition started National Bird Day: "to reduce the suffering of birds by raising public awareness of the destructive bird trade, the realities of cruel bird breeding mills, and ways to improve the welfare of birds already in captivity."

But here at the Reading Chronicle, we love and respect the wildlife living around us, and we asked you to send in some of your best bird photographs that you have taken.

Everyone is getting involved, even Mayor of Reading Rachel Eden.

Thanks to everyone who sent in their photographs, unfortunately we could not fit them all in but they are all available to view on our Camera Club.

We hope you enjoy our gallery, and be sure to get out there and take some photgraphs for yourself.
