Reading-born star Ricky Gervais has hit out at politicians over their behaviour during the pandemic on a Twitter live video.

Speaking to his 14.5million followers, he referenced the parties and ‘all the stuff they were doing’ while people couldn’t see dying family members, in a one minute rant on politicians.

The original 30-minute video has seen over 4,000 interactions, as well as over 170,000 views.

As to be expected with the Office and Afterlife comedian and actor, it would not be complete without his array of expletives and metaphors.

In this particular rant, he refers to politicians as 'all sh***' and as 'rubbing salt in the wound by acting like ******* Charlie Sheen’. The rant goes on to use several expletives to descrie the government and those 'in charge'.

Speaking more generally, he rounds off the segment by saying: "When are we going to stop taking 'went to Eaton' as a qualification to run the country?"

The full video began with the Whitley-born BAFTA winner miming to ‘Rocket Man’ by Elton John, before going on to discuss topics such as his lack of television viewing, fortune cookies and his OCD.
