TEENAGERS who tried to steal a 12-year-old's bicycle in Caversham are being hunted by police.

The victim was cycling along Thames Path near Cow Lane yesterday (Thursday, August 18) when he was approached by two other boys both on bikes.

The duo tried to take his bike. A woman disturbed them and they fled empty-handed towards Scoures Lane.

The first one, a slim Asian with black hair combed to the side, was wearing black tracksuit bottoms, black T-shirt and white Airmax 95 trainers, and carrying a grey Nike bag. He was riding a small grey Saracen bike.

The second was black with a large build. He was wearing black jeans, black T-shirt and rode a white Fleet bicycle.

Both are thought to be around 16-years-old.

Case investigator Barbara Dudley, based at Reading police station, said: "There were two women in the area at the time of the offence and we would like to hear from these witnesses.

"If you have any information about the incident or recognise the description of the offenders please contact police on the non-emergency telephone number 101."
